Debrecen turns into a fairground this weekend

Debrecen, known for centuries as a city of fairs, still preserves and cherishes the memory of the old fairs. Twice a year, around Mihály Day, a national fair is held in the city, with hundreds of vendors offering their wares. The spring fair will be held on 11-12 May in and around Böszörményi Street. The range of goods on offer will be as varied as ever, from clothes to technical goods, but of course there will also be traditional handicrafts and food specialities.

In addition to the Mihály’s Day Fair, on Saturday morning 11 May, the Batthyány fair and children’s flea market on Batthyány Street will be open to the younger visitors, and the CSAK Design Fair at the Méliusz Library will be open to craft and design lovers. Sunday morning 12 May, there will be another antiques fair with lots of exciting antiques and old items in front of the Nagyerdei Stadium.
