The Reformed Church of Debrecen offers free organ recitals on Sundays.
One of the most precious values of the Reformed Church of Debrecen is the nearly 200-year-old organ, which is considered by experts to be the most beautiful sounding church instrument in Hungary. Built in 1838 by Jacob Deutschmann, a master organ builder from Vienna, the 43-register, 3-manual organ with its magnificent sound can be heard in free concerts on the first Sunday of every month from June to November at 6 pm.
The queen of the instruments will be played by organists: the first of them will be Dániel Somogyi-Tóth, the chief music director of the city of Debrecen and organist, who will be the guest of the Great Church on Sunday 2 June.
