For forty years, the Hungarian Press Photo Competition and Exhibition has been the largest Hungarian showcase of the photojournalism profession. For the 40th Hungarian Press Photo Contest, 245 photographers uploaded 2305 entries, a total of 5810 images, from which a selection of exhibition material will be displayed in the city centre of Debrecen.
The electronic method ensures the anonymity of the applicants. The open competition is open to amateur and professional photographers alike. Each year, the entries are judged by a jury of distinguished Hungarian and foreign experts. The judging process is traditionally open to the public and can be followed online and on-site.
The exhibition of the winning images and other photographs submitted by the exhibition organiser is a highly prestigious professional event that attracts many visitors every year.
