The only monument of Debrecen with a rich industrial history preserved in its original location, the Tanner’s House – House of Craftsmen, is expecting visitors with a two-day folk art fair and craft show on 16-17 December.
Program:
16 December 2023 – Saturday – 13:00-18:00:
– Handicraft demonstrations: weaving, basketry, felting, candle making
– Tasting of festive dishes in the spirit of Hungarian folk traditions: grillage demonstration and tasting, locally baked gingerbread, scones, hot tea and mulled wine
– Hosted by the medieval band Sonivius Vappea
17 December 2023 – Sunday – 13:00-18:00:
– Handicraft demonstrations: weaving, basket making, Christmas tree ornament angel making
– Tasting of festive dishes in the spirit of Hungarian folk traditions: stuffed cabbage cooked in the oven, locally baked gingerbread, scones, hot tea and mulled wine
– Hosted by Zsiga Gyönyörű and his band
– Advent candle lighting
– With the participation of the Sáránd Song Choir and the Nádudvar Craft School’s nativity group
During the two-day event, you can buy beautiful gifts from many artisans, and visit the Handicraft House’s exhibitions on the history of embroidery and gingerbread.
The event is free of charge.
