Debrecen’s city center is decked out in Christmas finery. From November 28, 2025, Debrecen Advent welcomes those preparing for the holidays with unique handmade products, irresistible delicacies, mulled wine, and festive decorations for a whole month.
Nothing brings out the Christmas spirit better than the Advent market, the Christmas tree in the main square, the smell of chimney cake, and meeting up with friends. Advent photo spots, an ice rink, a carousel, waiting for Santa Claus, and a fairy-tale town with a miniature railway await visitors in the beautiful historic city center.
Advent in Debrecen is also a community celebration. The organizers have prepared numerous programs, concerts, and other cultural events to make your time here unforgettable.
This year, the organizers have something new in store. Inspired by the Debrecen Flower Carnival, the event will take place on December 13, 2025, under the name Ice Flower Carnival Parade.
