One of the most popular events of this year’s festival season was the Campus Festival in Debrecen. For a decade and a half, Campus has been striving to be a safe, family-friendly, cultural festival that truly reaches all ages.
The organizers are looking forward to 2025 with world stars and exciting programs in the Great Forest. This year, 121,000 people attended one of Hungary’s biggest summer cultural events, and preparations for next year’s festival are already well underway, with the first list of performers arriving two days before Christmas. As every year, the line-up is diverse, as shown by the more than 40 names now announced for next year.
The Campus already features two global stars, including one of the most successful R&B singer-songwriters, Jason Derulo, who has 65 million followers on TikTok. The American star has worked with artists such as Nicki Minaj, David Guetta and Pitbull. Alongside Jason Derulo, American electropop duo The Chainsmokers will also be at next year’s Campus. The electronic-pop sensations have won Grammys, American Music Awards and co-written a song with Coldplay boss Chris Martin: “Something Just Like This” has more than 2.3 billion views so far, but “Closer” is even more popular, with more than 7 billion streams.
In addition to the US global stars, 44 other national artists have been announced. There will be no style or musical subculture in the popular music program that is not represented in some form. The full line-up is expected to include hundreds of acts next year, with local artists and music from the world of popular music given a prominent place alongside the national elite. The organizers have also kept diversity in mind: this year, productions that have been absent in the past year or years will return to Campus, including Halott pénz and the Bagossy Brothers Company, and the Quimby band will return to Debrecen after a long break. Of course, the favorite hiphop artists of the Alfa and Z generation will not be absent, but there will be no shortage of jubilees either: the 20-year tour of Irie Maffia will also be part of the festival, and the hit “Hol van az a krézi srác” will be 25 years old, with Krisztián Szűcs (ex-HS7) bringing the best of show. Of course, this is just the first round, next year’s event will also feature a number of other musical performances and a veritable cavalcade of cultural and artistic events.

Starting on 16 July 2025, the festival will take place over four evenings in the unique setting of the Great Forest. The tourism significance of the Campus Festival is demonstrated by the fact that in 2024, Debrecen and its surroundings were completely full for four days, with more people than usual visiting the city and virtually 100% of accommodation booked, so it is worth booking well in advance for the 2025 festival.
For next year’s Campus Festival, season tickets are available at a very reasonable price until 31 December 2024.
