The event “Car Free Day” is organized as part of European Mobility Week. This year is themed to encourage participating towns and cities to raise awareness about sustainable mobility and promote behavioral change in favor of active, clean mobility solutions.
There will be a colorful program of events taking place on Piac Street between Kossuth Square and Szent Anna Street during the event on the 17th of September, including a bike play area, games, and concerts.
On Piac Street, there will be a cycling skill track, a cargo bike, LEGO robots, car simulators, a nostalgic ambulance demonstration, games, concerts, and the latest and greenest public transport system in the city, the electric bus.
During the day, participants can also travel on nostalgic tram and trolley bus services.
