Celebrating the Treasures of Debrecen

Debreceni Értéknap is the day to celebrate Debrecen’s regional treasures, however, it goes beyond just goods for purchase. This year, the Hajdú Dance Ensemble of Debrecen, which has been recognized as a national treasure, awaits an audience in Kossuth Square on Saturday, September 25th, with colorful, rich cultural programs and a unique exhibition of national value.

The aim of the event is to raise awareness of the city goods, and other local treasures available to be experienced in the Debrecen and Hajdú-Bihar County, to take these items into the county treasury, thereby obtaining the category of national value, and promoted as widely as possible. The organizers believe that this program will make the citizens of Debrecen and the people who visit here, even more, aware of the civic values and the richness of the values of our city and thus strengthen the local patriotism, urban self-awareness, and attachment of the residents of Debrecen.

They consider the innovative spirit of the event to be extremely important, which wants to present these values not only as a museum would, with stagnant values, but also to make them “usable” in the light of the constant change of tradition and culture, to find its message and function for today’s people.

The Value Day is organized with a tradition-creating intention, which can last but not least be experienced as a tourist attraction.
