Debrecen is the capital of 3×3 in Hungary that gives home again to three international 3×3 events in late August and early September. The venue is the same as before, the city main square with the amazing Reformed Great Church in the background.
The FIBA 3×3 World Tour is the most prestigious event in 3×3. 2023 marks its 12th edition. The flagship competition of the FIBA 3×3 professional season will travel around the globe on 13 events held in city’s like Manila, Prague, and Debrecen.
Debrecen is the venue of three 3×3 events between 26 August and 3 September.
26-27 August 2023 – World Tour
27-28 August 2023 – Women’s Series
30 August – 3 September 2023 – U18 World Championship
Exciting, urban and innovative, 3×3 is inspired by several forms of streetball played worldwide and is considered the world’s number one urban team sport. Steered by FIBA, games see two teams of three players face off on a basketball half-court.
It was played successfully for the first time in international competition at the 2010 Youth Olympic Games in Singapore and since then has benefited from the launch of a yearly professional circuit for men and women (World Tour and Women’s Series respectively) and national-team competitions.
3×3 made its Olympic debut at the Tokyo 2020 Games.
