Flower floats are an indispensable part of the Debrecen Flower Carnival. While we can’t see the spectacular huge rolling compositions made using hundreds of thousands of dry and live flowers marching this year, but we can admire them up close for three days.
In the Year of National Togetherness, the flower floats are putting the focus on Hungarian researchers, scientists, inventors, artists, and historical figures who have created lasting things in their own fields of focus and therefore made the world a better place through their work and the wonders they have created, while at the same time they have contributed to the reputation of their homeland.
The flower floats can be seen in the following locations:
• 20th August, Kossuth tér / Piac utca
• 21st-23rd August: St. Pope John Paul II Square (next to the Mist Theater).
On the 20th of August, all 10 flower floats will be visible at the same time in Kossuth Square, after that some will go to other cities. On 21st August, those interested can see 9 flower flotas at St. Pope John Paul II square. On the 22nd six will be on display while on the 23rd only five flower float will be on display next to the Mist Theatre ( St. Pope John Paul II square).
