Researchers’ Night in Debrecen

The event, which will take place on September 26, 2025, aims to make the scientific world and research more appealing to an even wider audience. During the evening, numerous institutions, research groups, and scientists will provide insight into the latest research through innovative projects, interactive presentations, and lectures.

Visitors can participate in programs on various topics, ranging from natural sciences to engineering and social sciences, and try out the latest research methods. The aim of the event is to introduce scientific work to a wider audience and encourage young people to pursue scientific careers.

A taste of the programs in Debrecen: The Agora – Science Experience Center will welcome curious visitors to Researchers’ Night on Friday, September 26, 2025, with exciting programs. As a highlight, visitors will be able to learn about the joint WATCH career orientation project of Emerson I NI and Agora. Upon arrival at Agora, visitors can explore interactive tools such as a color technology simulator, earthquake simulator, reaction time measuring table, smart mirror, reflex test, plasma plate, and laser spirograph. The presentations will show how the WATCH program helps students acquire knowledge, discuss the possibilities offered by 3D printing, and demonstrate what humanoid robots are capable of. The University of Debrecen is also joining in on the night dedicated to promoting scientific life. Nearly 200 events await visitors on the university campus. In the field of technical sciences, future technologies will be examined during a laboratory workshop. More information.

If you are interested in economics, visit the Faculty of Economics at the university, where you can gain insight into economic research through enjoyable programs and participate in an economics escape room. Further information.

The University of Debrecen and the Déri Museum are also organizing a joint event on September 26 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. called Power in Gold. During the event, there will be lectures and guided tours every hour. Topics will include medieval coinage, the history of weapons, and the introduction of gold as a means of payment.

Among schools, the Debrecen International School is preparing a number of programs, such as a practical robotics program, during which young people can learn about engineering sciences in a playful way. The event will be held by international teachers in English, with Hungarian translation. Further information.

Furthermore, the International School has also considered young children in its program. Preschoolers and elementary school students: During the event entitled “Modern Versions of Fairy Tales and Storytelling,” a story afternoon will be organized in the school library, also presented in English by international teachers. Medicine will be featured at Researchers’ Night, with lectures on the topic held at several locations. Organized by the Mathias Corvinus Collegium Foundation, the MCC training center in Debrecen will host a presentation on the role of artificial intelligence in medicine.
