The Debrecen Zoo and Amusement Park awaits you with a rich programme, animal experiences, and the first amusement park adventures of the year.
Folk dancers and a host of interactive experiences will guarantee fun during the festive whirlwind. There will be an egg exhibition and an Easter bravery test in the Palm House, but puzzle fans can also take part in an egg hunt and a zoo, while young and old can show off their creativity in a collective egg tree decoration and giant egg painting. In addition, those interested in the flora and fauna of the spring awakening can take a guided walk through the Great Forest under the slowly greening trees of the forest.
Inevitable protagonists of this celebration of renewal will be the zoo’s newborn residents, including the grey cattle ewes, the goat-goat herd, the zoo’s cigas sheep, the first and only antelope and South African warthogs in the history of the zoo. The all-day Animals in Action programme will return from the first day of the break with crowd favourites such as the Katta walk, penguin walks, pony rides, photo opportunities with the Chili, the yellow and blue macaw, and the bunny village.
Now in its 62nd season, the country’s only permanent amusement park opens this Thursday, and its technical staff has been carrying out maintenance and renovation work over the past months to ensure a safe and truly enjoyable experience. Thanks to decades of painstaking work, the classic bumper cars and the horse-drawn roundabout with its peaceful horses are still in perfect working order, to the delight of successive generations of guests. And of course, there will be no shortage of new features: the Baby Ferris Wheel and Jungle Ferris Wheel, which are a treat for the little ones, will be aesthetically renewed for Easter.
