Food lovers can be happy as September awaits them with two great food festivals in Debrecen. First, the hamburger festival Szaft ‘N Burger is held on 2 September 2023 on the shores of Lake Békás, then the gastro festival season continues with the Debreczeni ZAMAT Festival taking place from 15 to 17 September 2023 at the northern gate of Nagyerdei Stadium.

Szaft ‘N Burger invites burger lovers to Debrecen on 2 September 2023. The event which is now in its third year is a great event for groups of friends and families who enjoy hamburgers, steaks, barbecue, concerts, craft beers, shows, performances, and a national competition.
Picture a fantastic day themed around the burger, located on the shores of Lake Békás. Professional individual competition, individual amateur, freestyle, and junior categories, as well as team competitions for families, friends, and company teams!
The steakhouse competition is also held this year focusing on cooking chuck eye.
Be there for the all-day picnic, watch the pros, listen to the professional presentations, enter a team of family or friends, and sample the delicacies of a number of burger and barbecue teams and the home brews, and other delicacies on parade.
Admission to the event is free.
Debreczeni ZAMAT Festival
Debrecen’s gastro festival season continues with the Debreczeni ZAMAT Festival taking place from 15 to 17 September 2023 at the northern gate of Nagyerdei Stadium. The event features star performers, culinary experiences, and of course a great variety of dishes and drinks.
The paired sausage and pálinka from Debrecen will play a leading role this year, but in addition to these, the best local and regional restaurants, as well as excellent Hungarian pálinka distilleries, will ensure that the festival is lasting in all its flavors.
