Zoo Debrecen Invites You for An Evening Walk in Autumn

Every season has its own magic under the trees of the Great Forest, which is slowly changing into its most picturesque period with so many autumn colours, and to celebrate this, the Debrecen Zoo is organising the first ever Evening Walks in October, which was previously a summer tradition.

The exclusive programme, which will also offer something new for returning guests, will offer a unique guided tour, giving them a glimpse into the thousands of secrets of the garden and a behind-the-scenes look at the animals’ autumn and evening lives. Some have already taken up their heated winter homes, while others are getting ready for winter by growing thick fur coats, or are at their best during the cooler months and evening hours, such as Siberian tigers, red pandas, and snowy owls. With the help of zoo educators and animal keepers, visitors will also learn about their habits and those of many other residents, including new autumn arrivals Jilin, the female northern Chinese leopard, and South African basking cubs, who are not normally seen. The programme will conclude with an exotic Palm House visit, evoking the eternal warmth and extraordinary biodiversity of the tropics, and seasonal snacks and drinks.

This unique experience will take place on both the 14th of, and the 28th of October from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. A limited number of tickets are available: 30 tickets can be purchased online in advance for HUF 4800 each, and a further 10 tickets are available on-site for HUF 5000 each.
