For the third time, in one of the most magical seasons of the year, Zoo Debrecen will hold the AdományoZOO Day on November 30. Their goal is to provide more families and communities with a chance to enjoy experiences at the zoo, where they care for over 1,000 animals year-round.
Under the patronage of Deputy Mayor Dr. Széles Diána and organized by the Debrecen Charitable Board (DKT), guests can attend the event with a registration fee of 300 Ft or by purchasing a supporter’s ticket. The zoo kindly asks that visitors bring material donations (non-perishable food, hygiene products, sweets, children’s books, etc.) according to their means, which the DKT will distribute to those in need.
This year, as always, a range of heartwarming holiday activities makes the event special. You can join in planting the Tree of Care, a symbol of unity and compassion that will be a new part of our park. The Santa Train and Santa’s House will welcome children and all who believe in its magic, where they can meet Santa’s helpers and drop letters or drawings into Santa’s mailbox to enjoy the spirit of holiday anticipation. For those who enjoy crafting, handmade ornaments can be created in a cozy setting. In addition, a pony cart, a magical exploration game, and a “warm-up” conversation corner await you with hot tea, cocoa, and sweet treats.
On Sunday, December 1, Santa will once again visit one of his favorite parks, bringing smiles to the faces of not only our zoo residents but also our guests. The festive Santa House will open its doors wide, where Santa himself will welcome both children and adults with open arms. You can greet him with poems, songs, or even a special wish, accompanied by memorable photos. The day will be enriched by the “Santa’s Tale” paper theater performance and the “In Search of Santa” treasure hunt. To make the event even more festive, you can join our “Animals in Action” program, where Santa will bring enrichment tools and treats to the animals while our staff shares stories about their daily lives.
With a zoo admission ticket, all program elements are free to attend. Of course, there will be an opportunity to purchase a supporter’s ticket, renew your annual pass at a discounted rate, and even adopt a favorite animal for those who wish to contribute to the zoo’s development and the well-being of its residents.
