The Bényi Gallery is a commercial gallery focusing on Hungarian contemporary art, where the artist is free to create and the viewer can be immersed in the experience.
The renewed Bényi Gallery – formerly the Bényi Árpád Hall – has been a key venue in the art scene of Debrecen and the region for 16 years. A key part of the gallery’s identity is to continue to nurture and showcase the work of respected local artists, develop collaborations with established national artists, and create a new community with local and regional economic actors who support and promote contemporary art.
From 2022, the 310 m2 exhibition space, located in the Kölcsey Centre, adjacent to the Foyer on the 1st and 2nd floors will be extended with commercial functions, which will create a discourse between local values, progressive art, and market players; creating a cultural space where artists, art-loving audiences and private collectors wishing to invest in contemporary art, as well as business and economic organisations can meet.
