Bicycle Museum Debrecen

The first permanent bicycle exhibition in Debrecen, from the private collection of veteran bicycle collector and restorer Attila Katona, opened in the summer of 2024. The museum houses about 100 bicycles, which take you on a journey through time, from the first wooden bicycle invented by Karl von Drais to the first pedal bicycle by Pierre Michaux.

One of the prides of the collection is the series of bicycles by Hungarian craftsmen, including many unique examples by masters such as Ferenc Bécs, Miksa Essenfeld and Nándor Velvárt, but of course there are also old Csepels, over 100 years old.

The museum also has a display of Italian racing bicycles, including several that competed in the world famous Italian road race, the Giro d’Italia, decades ago.
