Tiszafüred located in the northern basin of Lake Tisza and its surroundings is a favorite with guests longing for a quiet natural environment.

Besides Lake Tisza, the area is strewn with islands, peninsulas, and backwaters, endowed with rich flora and fauna, the main attractions of the settlement are the swimming, angling and other water sports opportunities of the river Tisza, as well as thermal water.
Tiszafüred is one of the centers of ecotourism around Lake Tisza. Visitors can explore the natural beauty with the help of qualified tour guides and an established network of hiking centers. If you are tired of walking why not try an alternative mode of transportation, perhaps a trip on the lake, a bike ride or by horseback?
The nature trails of the Mayfly Flood Plain Walking Trail (Tiszavirág Ártéri Sétaút) of Tiszaörvény and the Ox-Bow Lake Bikers’ Rest Park (Morotva Kerékpáros Pihenőpark) located next to the free-entry beach present the protected plant and animal species of the lake.
Apart from Lake Tisza, Tiszafüred has another treasure: thermal water. The visitors to our settlement can enjoy the thermal spa. The 39 °C water containing alkaline hydrogen carbonate is excellent for recreation and the treatment of various motor and rheumatic diseases.
The free-entry lido of Tiszafüred welcomes guests wishing to relax with a sandy shore, an extensive grassy area surrounded by trees, a sand volleyball court and a multitude of snack bars and restaurants. There are two playgrounds in the area where families with small children can enjoy themselves: one of them is right next to the beach while the other one is only a few minutes away on foot, located in the Ox-Bow Lake Bikers’ Rest Park.
Those interested in folklore can learn about the famous pottery of Füred and discover the Nyúzó Gáspár Pottery Folklore Museum. Currently, its trade is pursued in two pottery workshops in our town: the artifacts purchased there can bring back the memories of a holiday spent in the region.
Tiszafüred offers versatile summer programs for tourists. The most important event is the three-day festival organized on the second weekend of July: the Tiszafüred Fish Days (Tiszafüredi Halasnapok). The event awaits tourists with various light music programs, the performances of different artistic groups, sports events, and family programs.
The most prestigious monument of the town is the former Lipcsey Mansion, which houses the Kiss Pál Museum. The museum’s collection is made up of approximately 13 000 works of art and documents from the domains of folklore, history, natural science (especially paleontology) and fine arts.
