Bath culture in Debrecen goes back nearly 200 years. In the heart of Nagyerdő — voted one of the most beautiful forests in the country — a bathhouse was already operating by the late 1820s, which later evolved into a full spa complex.
One of the most popular parts of the historically rooted Aquaticum SPA is the Thermal Bath, based on mineral-rich, medicinal thermal water with healing properties. Open all year round, its domed pool hall features three medicinal pools of different temperatures, a swimming pool, and contrast baths. The design of the space was inspired by the four classical elements — fire, water, earth, and air.
Both indoor and outdoor pools are equipped with massage elements such as water jets and mushroom showers, contributing to a full wellness experience in the form of therapeutic water “massages.” Beyond the thermal pools and experience elements, the calming interior design, the magical surroundings of the Great Forest, and the fresh air all help ensure true relaxation and rejuvenation.
The Thermal Bath provides direct access to the other units of Aquaticum SPA, and each section can be visited separately or combined for a complete experience.
