On August 29, 2020, the Phoenix Folk Dance Ensemble, the Csapókerti Circle of Friends Association, and the Csapókerti Community House of the Debrecen Cultural Center will organize the XXI. Fire Dance Youth Dance Festival and the IV. Circling Festival.
Among the traditional programs of the event is the ceremonial handover of the renovated Liget Square within the framework of the Széchenyi plan.
History
XXI. Fire Dance Youth Dance Festival: The festival was launched in 2000, close to St. John’s Day, with the participation of the county’s folk dance communities. The event has expanded internationally over the years, with nearly 50 folk dance groups of both Hungarian and other nationalities participating during the past 20 years.
ARC. Circling Festival: It was launched in November 2014 with the aim of giving women’s dances and groups the rank of a festival. The female dance groups of folk dance ensembles can compete in a competition. In the ring, the uniquely beautiful Hungarian women’s costumes and our priceless folk songs will be presented to the audience with dance.
Picnic in Liget Square
Every year, the Csapókerti Circle of Friends organizes a picnic in Liget Square on the Saturday closest to Earth Day. By cleaning the park, we make one of the largest public parks in Debrecen, Liget Square, more beautiful, and we bring the members of our different communities together. In addition, we promote the importance of sports and exercise to the residents of the Csapókert district within the framework of an all-day program.
