“Nothing is impossible; follow your dreams!” The Lord of the Dance production started with this thought of Michael Flatley, determined to stage the greatest Irish dance show ever. His now legendary 7-minute dance number at the Eurovision Song Contest ’94 brought him international fame and instantly catapulted him into the public eye, creating Lord of the Dance.
The dynamic, energetic show, with its story, told through dance, its fantastic choreography, and its unique music has captivated audiences around the world. The performance transcends age, culture, and language, enchanting audiences and transporting them into a mythical world.
The production has won countless accolades and broken theatre records around the world. Since its premiere in 1996, it has been seen by over 600 million people in over 60 countries, in over 1000 venues, and has gone down in history as one of the world’s most successful dance productions.
To celebrate its 25th anniversary, fans will see a revamped version of the show, with breathtaking choreography, new costumes, and state-of-the-art visual effects. The cast features 40 of the world’s finest dancers, directed by Michael Flatley and accompanied by music by composer Gerard Fahy. The revamped production combines tradition and innovation while retaining the radiance of Irish dance.
“I am very excited to be presenting Lord of the Dance again. I feel this will be one of the most unforgettable tours in our 25-year history. I am confident that the production will touch people’s souls and put a smile on everyone’s face,” said Michael Flatley.
The spectacular performance will amaze Irish dance and music lovers in Győr, Szeged, Budapest, Veszprém, and Debrecen in 2023.
