Past and present meet in the Hortobágy with its mirage. Three days in the land of the foals!
In the past decades, the Hortobágy Equestrian Days have grown into a major event in the region, which is known across national borders. The main aim of the event is to promote the past and present of the pastoral culture of Hortobágy, the past and present of the Hortobágy Nonprofit Ltd. and the horse breeding work of Mátai Ménes, and its collection of horses, which is still in use and in operation today.
The Hortobágy Equestrian Days are a summary of the Hungarian equestrian life, which includes professional riders as well as amateurs and horse-loving adults and children.
With its half-century history, the Hortobágy Equestrian Days is a grand old event in the national equestrian calendar: the events will take place on the grounds of the stud farm, which has been in existence since 1671, preserving the atmosphere of the old horse days while presenting the various aspects of equestrian life today, with the Hortobágy countryside, a World Heritage Site since 1999, providing an excellent backdrop and setting.
