IKON is in the top ten of Hungarian rural restaurants, but two other restaurants in Debrecen are also in the national top 100.
The Dining Guide held its Restaurant of the Year Gala Evening again this year, where the best restaurants of the year were awarded. The aim of this year’s edition of the Dining Guide TOP100 Restaurant Guide continues to be to guide guests through the increasingly varied and constantly evolving gastronomic offer.
This year’s Restaurant of the Year award went to Pajta in Őriszentpéter.
Once again, the 2025 list of rural restaurants proves that Hungarian gastronomy is not limited to the borders of Budapest. The Platán Gourmet Restaurant in Tata topped the list again this year, followed by Pajta, 42 Restaurant and Sauska 48 in Villány, while the ninth place in the list went to IKON Restaurant in Debrecen.

Last year IKON was ranked 10th among the rural restaurants, this year they moved up one place.
– We are very happy to share with you that our restaurant has been ranked among the TOP 10 restaurants in the countryside by the Dining Guide again this year. We are ranked 9th in 2025 – it is a great honor for us to be back in the forefront of the countryside gastronomy. We thank our guests and our team for this recognition – we couldn’t have done it without you,” the restaurant wrote on its Facebook page.
The top 100 list also includes Szomszéd Bisztró and Next Bistro in Debrecen.
The former is in the 81st place in the Dining Guide ranking, while the latter is the 84th. The 160 best restaurants also include another restaurant from Hajdú-Bihar, the Almavirág Restaurant in Derecske.
