Nearly 100 caterers and fair vendors are waiting for those preparing for Christmas since opening on November 26th, it will continue until December 23rd making available handcrafted products and tasty delicacies. Read on for this Sunday’s events programme.
In addition to the main, Kossuth Square, this year the fair will take place in several other locations, including Rózsa Street, Csapó Street, Dósa Nádor Square, and the beginning of Piac Street.
Sunday 5th December – Programme
4:00 p.m. Sáránd nativity play to performed by Zsigmond the Beautiful and his company
4:30 p.m. Performance by the parent choir of the Sunflower Waldorf Primary School
5 p.m. The Second Advent candle lighting
Venue: Memorial Garden behind the Great Church
Speech by: István Puskás, Deputy Mayor of Debrecen; Richárd Asztalos, pastor of the Lutheran Parish of Debrecen and Barnabás Sipos, parish priest of the Hungarian Orthodox Parish of the Holy Trinity in Debrecen.
During the speeches, the choir of the Rainbow Children’s Choir and the choir of the Hungarian Orthodox Parish of the Holy Trinity of Debrecen will serve. Árpád Bakota, actor of the Csokonai Theatre, will participate in the candle lighting.
You will be able to enter the Memorial Garden with a security card
If attending the scheduled programme of events, don’t forget your ice skates, because the Ice Ring in front of the Great Reformed Church is awaiting visitors, this year it has grown in size to encompass the Kossuth statue.
