Agora opened its doors 6 years ago, in February 2015. The Science Experience Center celebrates its birthday each year with a special event.
Due to the epidemic situation, this year’s birthday program will move to an online space, specifically, the Agora Facebook page, ensuring that visitors are not left without adventure and memorable science experiences.
On Saturday, February 13, 2021, the answers to the following questions will be revealed,
- What animals live in a drop of water,
- What makes a home smart
- Which constellations can be seen in the February sky.
On Agora’s birthday, the spirit of chemistry is evoked, for the creativity inclined there is the opportunity to create a op-up festive greeting card, or see how to light a candle on a birthday cake without a match.
The Agora Facebook page is worth following throughout the week, with the help of colleagues and a mini video series, anyone will be able to get a glimpse behind the scenes of the experience center, and the Agora will also announce several games during the week.

Life in a drop of water
Online microscope workshop
What is the world under a microscope? What does a single drop of water hide? During the online session, you could get acquainted with one of the smallest multicellular creatures, the roundworm, and compare the fauna of artificial stagnant water with that of tap water.
We recommend the 45-minute online interactive session for those of age of 6 and above.

Creative Science: Pop-up Birthday Greeting
In the birthday special edition of the online session series, we could make nothing more fitting than a real holiday postcard using a pop-up technique. You don’t just need to add colored paper, and use scissors and double-sided glue, there is more to it. Try it and make an “outstanding” good surprise too!

In this video, we use materials that react and look like magic. In the short experiments, we evoke the spirit of chemistry, toying with colors, and experimenting in the dark. And meanwhile, we also call forth oxygen in the air.

The staff of the DigiTér Debrecen Digital Experience Center, which has been operating in the Agora for almost a year, will show you in the video why the devices of the smart home are so popular nowadays.
