Another Europe, an open photo exhibition, will open on Kossuth Square on June 11th. The aim of the exhibition is to present the diversity of Europe’s heritage.
The exhibition features 28 photographs, one from each EU Member State and the United Kingdom . The artists feature a wide range of photographic solutions, with works by both acclaimed and emerging talents on display. Photographers voice themes and influences that are familiar to all of us and are part of our cultural heritage , from quite tangible creations such as monuments, buildings, historical sites, to more ostentatious social aspects such as childhood, fairy tales, theater, landscape, conflicts, work, holiday, family, memories, literature and traditions. The works depict everyday themes, but there is also a strong emphasis on the specific features that make up Europe’s rich cultural heritage .
The project of EUNIC Hungary (the network of national cultural institutes of the European Union) was coordinated by the German Cultural Forum in Debrecen, the Hungarian Representation of the British Council, the Austrian Cultural Forum in Budapest, AVL, British Telecom, the City of Debrecen and the Austrian Atelier Jungwirth. The exhibition is curated by British photographer Hamish Park.
The outdoor exhibition will be on view at Kossuth Square from June 11th to July 12th.
