Christmas for the Animal’s

The Christmas of the Animals is a long-standing and one of the most beautiful traditions of the Debrecen Zoo. This year it will be held on 27th December. At the festive event, visitors will be able to see a number of residents being fed and, together with the zoo staff, make the monkeys’ favourite treat, monkey dumplings.

As well as the animals, the zoo’s foster carers who have adopted animals will also be given special attention on this day, and the zoo would like to thank them for their selfless support with this final event of the year. Their support has been particularly helpful this year in providing ongoing professional care for around 900 residents, given the 120-day forced closure until 1st May and the resulting loss of income.

At the foster parents’ meeting, to launch Christmas for Animals, zoo staff will report on all the improvements to the enclosures and changes to the animals’ lives that have been made possible this year thanks to the support from adopters.
