Colorful Programs Await Visitors to Debrecen over the Weekend

Within the framework of the program series ”DEkult” a number of colorful cultural programs await those who visit Debrecen over the weekend.

The previous one-day program called “Night of the Museums” Night will be extended to three days over the weekend, combining with the “Night of the Youth”, the “Night of the Literature”, the “Night of the Arts” and the “Night of the Music”.

On June 27, during the traditional event “Night of the Museums”, the collections of the Reformed College and the Magda Szabó Memorial House will also join these programs.

As part of the colorful program series, for example, the artists of the Csokonai Theater will read 23 works from 23 writers and from 23 countries in three locations including the Déri Museum, the Ferenc Medgyessy Memorial Museum, and at the MODEM.

The Kodály Philharmonic Orchestra Debrecen will be the first in the country to hold a concert indoors again and it will take place at the Kölcsey Center on Sunday morning. The concert will then be repeated outdoors in Déri Park in the afternoon.

The creators of the CIHA Association organize the “Átjáró” (Gateway) Fair in the pedestrian zone of Csapó Street, where those interested can see the hundreds of years of folk culture reborn with innovative tools and modern design.

The Bauhaus Contemporary project will also be hosted in Debrecen from 27 June to 19 and the gems of contemporary Hungarian photography will be displayed in the shop windows of Piac Street. The Bauhaus Contemporary project connects one of the important European art trends of the 20th century with contemporary Hungarian photography.
