Well-Known Artists from Debrecen Exhibiting Works in Shop Windows.

The initiative aims to breathe new life into the city center through cultural programs, helping to revitalize the city’s economy.

As part of the “Step-by-Step” series of events, shoppers will be able to see the works of renowned artists from Debrecen at the Showcase Exhibition taking place over the next few months in the shop windows of eight shops in the City Center.

The creators, Cívis Ház Zrt. – as the owner of the stores – and the retailers renting the stores have a common goal: through shops windows in a busy place, the widest possible range of Debrecen residents can get to know the outstanding artists.

Cívis Ház Zrt. was happy to support the initiative, as both the merchants and the artists participating in the series of events are their tenants. – The initiative was the idea of Cívis Ház so that the tenants of the artist Cívis Ház could find each other and the tenants of the shops.

We were of the opinion that during this difficult period, both culture and trade would benefit well, and in coordination with each other, both culture and business, trade and hospitality would benefit, said Edit Erdei, Cívis CEO of Ház Zrt.

The unusual showcase opened on Saturday, and during the downtown walk, the exhibiting artists were able to showcase their works themselves. At the event, artist István Tamus, the artistic director of the Showcase Exhibition, said that this initiative will open new avenues and opportunities for artists.

“Passers-by stop, think for a moment, look at the shop window, or notice a work there.” They recognize the artist, or they just know something about the creator. It is essentially due to the virus that this is done in this form, the artist said.

He added that there are many young artists in Debrecen, and this will also give the next generation of students the opportunity to get to know each other.

Józsefné Maticska also took part in the walk, who said that this initiative was a good idea. As he said, he also likes to go to exhibition openings because not only can he see the works, but he can also learn more about them from the artists. And the works placed in the shop windows can, in his opinion, bring art closer to the people.

At least we pay attention to everyday life, we don’t have to go to the museum. I’m leaving, but it’s different, so there’s an exhibition tour in it every day, ”he said. Showcase exhibition in the center of Debrecen Opening of the gallery (31 pictures) At the window show we can see one of the works of István Tamus, a colorful linocut in In memoriam Borbély Szilárd – as the title shows – in memory of the poet-writer who died tragically.
