During the first week of October Debrecen airport will be closed for maintenance work.
The war has caused an increase in traffic to the airport, which has taken its toll on the pavement; these defects need to be repaired.
Debrecen International Airport will be completely closed between October 3rd to the 9th for urgent repairs.
János Vajda, managing director of Debrecen International Airport, explained that they have already informed the airlines and those concerned about this in good time, adding that the increase in traffic was caused by the presence of more aircraft – military planes, humanitarian aid, – cargo, consequently, the condition of the runways deteriorated much faster than usual.
