During the four-day event, interested parties will once again be able to get closer to contemporary art with a connection to the city.
The Art Week program series will be held again between May 15 and 18, 2025.

The exhibition and alternative spaces of the city center will be prepared with guided tours, workshops, and studio tours, which will be enriched by musical and literary experiences as well as flash mobs.
The program will be implemented at 14 locations with the cooperation of 16 Debrecen exhibition venues, associations, art schools, and private individuals. The second Art Week will be implemented at the initiative and with the support of the Debrecen local government.
During the Debrecen Art Week there will be several exhibition openings, including:
- Opening of the Create Free Art Competition – 15 May, New Town Hall Gallery (Kálvin tér 11)
- Péter Donka: I left my brushes at the university – Opening: 15 May, Debrecen German Cultural Forum (Batthyány utca 24).
- In the footsteps – Photo exhibition by Levente Vigh – Opening 15 May, DESZ24 courtyard (Batthyány utca 24)
- Medgyessy in the Medgyessy – Opening: 16 May, Medgyessy Ferenc Memorial Museum and House of Literature in Debrecen (Péterfia utca 28)
- “I was born in Transylvania” – Exhibition by Árpád Bényi from the collection of the Kiss-Nagy couple – Opening: 15 May, Partium House (Piac utca 81)
- “Molecules clashing” – paraphrase in art – Opening: 16 May, New Gallery (Széchenyi utca 1)
- 34th Debrecen Spring Art Exhibition – Opening and Award Ceremony – Opening: 17 May, 17:00, Bényi Gallery (Hunyadi utca 1-3)
- Experiments in photography – A selection of recent works from the 90-year-old Debrecen Photography Club – Opening: 17 May

In addition to the exhibition openings and workshops, SKICC – Debrecen Animation Film Days will be a special event at the Apollo Cinema from 16-18 May. Organized by Lilla Váczi and Judit Komlódi, the event will highlight the versatility and visual power of animation and add color to the Debrecen Art Week palette.
The programs are free of charge and offer valuable art content for all ages – from contemporary painting and photography to animation, guided tours and community art experiences.
