Debrecen International Airport – Greater Range of Charter Services

Three charter destinations have already been confirmed for this summer, while negotiations are at an advanced stage for the others.

János Vajda, Managing Director of Debrecen International Airport, said the airport could have the widest ever range of charters at Debrecen Airport this summer.

Turkey will be represented by three tour operators, which means that departures are expected to be available not only on one day of the week but on several days. The destination is expected to be Antalya. The Turkish Riviera has been the most popular destination from Debrecen for years, he said.

According to the director, the island of Zakynthos in Greece and Hurghada in Egypt will be included in the Debrecen charter offer this year. He pointed out that Debrecen International Airport is in advanced negotiations with a Bulgarian tour operator for a charter to Burgas on the Black Sea. A decision is expected within a week or two.

Another Greek island could also be included in the offer of a Hungarian tour operator, namely Rhodes, the director said.

In addition to charters, the three Debrecen holiday flights have reappeared on Wizz Air’s summer schedule including Mallorca,  Cyprus, and Santorini. The flights will resume in June 2022 and will operate until the end of October.

In addition, Wizz Air’s Debrecen service also includes flights to Tel Aviv in Israel.

The current timetable of Wizz Air includes flights to London, Paris, Eindhoven, Brussels, Moscow, and Kiev, while Lufthansa is planning to relaunch its Munich flight soon.
