Hungary is famous for its Mangalica pigs, widely considered as one of the tastiest breeds in the world, its pork is sought after worldwide, and within Hungary, Debrecen has been at the heart of the trade for hundreds of years.
Visitors come to the festival mainly to see the excellent quality products on display, but also for a good time, there is a full day of entertainment including folk music, fairground comedy, and gastronomic delicacies to match the festival atmosphere.
One of the most popular parts of the festival is usually the livestock exhibition, with 3-3 of each of the three breeds (blond, red, swallow-eared) and a sow with piglets in temporary pens. In addition to breeders and small-scale producers, Hungarian handicraft producers and craftsmen have the opportunity to present their products in the craft street within the event.
In addition to locally roasted whole piglets, visitors can choose from a variety of other freshly prepared Mangalica dishes. In addition to the classic dishes (sausages, sausages, Tarja, onion blood, etc.), the food trucks with the latest technology will also be preparing Mangalica street food, a quick and easy Mangalica menu that can be eaten out of hand.
In 2022, there will also be a live animal exhibition, with 1 family of each of the three breeds (blond, red, and swallow) and a sow with piglets in temporary pens.
In addition to the breeders and small producers, there will be an opportunity to present Hungarian handicrafts and craftsmen in the craft street within the event.
