New Season starts at Kodály Philharmonia Orchestra

Kodaly Philharmonia in Debrecen kicks off the new season with Beethoven Symphonies.

Dániel Somogyi-Tóth, the legendary composer was born 250 years ago this year. Dániel Somogyi-Tóth, the director of the Kodaly Philharmonia said that professional classical music groups from Debrecen will join the jubilee celebration: all the symphonies of the classical master will be heard during the season.

However, many other classical, romantic and contemporary masterpieces will be performed during the concerts. In addition to the Kodály Choir and the Kodály Philharmonic Orchestra, Mozart, Rossini, Ferenc Liszt, Ravel, Gershwin will also be interpreted by outstanding artists such as Barnabás Kelemen, Dénes Várjon, Vilmos Szabadi, and Alexandru Agache.

Hopefully, the new music center and concert hall planned for construction in the new municipal term will give a new home to the Kodály Philharmonia orchestra. Support Debrecen Today!

A diverse range of international music meetings is planned from 2021 onwards, in addition to the Béla Bartók International Choir Competition.
