Welcome to Debrecen!

Science fair in Dósa Nádor square

How does a glass table become an electro-acoustic instrument? What can a robotic arm be used for? Can we hit a nail into a tree with a banana? Is it possible to play music by bike or spray water with steam? These questions can also be answered by anyone who visits the Science Fair.

This autumn, the Agóra Scientific Experience Center will move to Dósa Nádor Square again. At the two today event called the Science Fair, those interested can meet local institutions at the forefront of research and development and scientific activity, try out special interactive tools, and watch exciting experimental demonstrations and lectures on stage.

Venue: Dósa Nádor Square
Time: September 16th, 2021 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and September 17th, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Frosty experiments In the
great cold, science can seem to go crazy: air is shattering, plants are shattering, magnets are starting to fly, and even electricity is being confused. During the spectacular experimental demonstration, we can learn how extreme cold changes everyday objects!

Robotics Demonstration
Have you ever met a humanoid robot? Have you caressed a robot dog yet? In the presentation, we can find out what tasks and stunts these tools with a complex structure are able to perform and what role they can play in our everyday life.

Opportunities in the IT world to or there is life beyond coding
What are the most significant technological trends in 2021? How do these trends unnoticed affect our daily lives? At the presentation, we can also get answers to these questions from Zoltán Till, an employee of EPAM, who also guides those interested in the world of IT and programming.

Balloon fun
It is not difficult to blow a balloon. Or yet? During the experimental demonstration, the balloons get cold, warm, pointed and heavy, while various physical phenomena can be observed amid the inevitable bursts.

Human-powered playhouse
The special, individually developed, human-to-powered structures of the engineering team are not only fun but also excellent as a demonstration and attitude to forming tools. Entrepreneurial enthusiasts can try out four different machines converted from bicycles at the Science Fair.

Exhibiting partners: EPAM, NI, Schaeffler Debrecen, University of Debrecen, Faculty of Science and Technology, Magnitude Astronomical Society Debrecen, DigITér Debrecen Digital Experience Center

In case of bad weather, stage performances will be missed.

The program is implemented with the support of the National Cultural Fund.
