Once upon a time…, somewhere near the Texas state line, where the last blades of grass are scorched by the midday heat and the hot wind carries the devil’s chariots, just a hop, skip, and a jump away from the withered tree that barely shades the first crossroads, and from there, just 9434 km away, in a town called Nyíregyháza (Church of Birch), Texas Tourist was born in 2017!
The musical genre is a mixture of Texas blues, swamp, dark country, and southern rock styles, as well as hip hop and funky, popular among today’s music trends.
A truly unique and special spot on the local music scene. Since their formation, they have given numerous concerts, opened for several big bands (Supernem, Tamás Takáts, Radar), and played at several festivals in acoustic formations (Vidor, Tokaj Street Music Festival, Kultúrfröccs Street Music Festival).
Jim Seres (vocals, guitar), the founder and father of the band, wanted to realize his own ideas, joined by his friend Zota Perez (guitar), and after a long search and member changes, The Beerkiller (bass) and Tom Javor (drums) joined.
On 6th October 2020, their song “Is it the end?” debuted on Rock Radio. In the near future, they are planning to record a full-length album and a music video, and are also trying to fulfil requests from the USA, Germany, Austria, and Ireland.
