Debrecen’s newest spa, Aquaticum Debrecen Strand, will open on 20th June with a beach marathon.
Schedule of extended opening hours for the beach marathon are as follows:
- 20th June, Saturday, 6 AM – 11 PM
- 21st June, Sunday, 6 AM – 8 PM

Aquaticum Debrecen Beach in a Nutshell
Debrecen’s newest spa, Aquaticum Debrecen Strand, built on a 5,700-square-meter area and featuring 15 pools, eight slides, a 12-meter-high sun terrace, and a “children’s world”.
In the summer of 2015, the Debreceni Gyógyfürdő Kft. announced a design contest for the reconstruction of the Debrecen Public Bath. The winner, Bord Architect Studio transformed the public bath to a modern recreation center. It will be another iconic sight for the city just like the Great Forest turned out to be.
This decisive spectacle was created by integrating the pools, the slides, and whirlpools; and the connecting elements between these pools is the water itself. The floating water surfaces and waterfalls turn the bath to a glittering, and exciting place. Another aspect was to use the proximity of the surrounding forest and facilitate an active relationship with nature. The idea was to create an easily accessible and interoperable building from all directions.
