A photo exhibition entitled Tourism is our passion will open on June 29th in seven parts of the country, including the Hotel Lycium in Debrecen. The exhibition commemorates an extraordinary period in the tourism industry, greatly affected by the pandemic.
“The coronavirus pandemic has hit us, those working in the profession, those living from tourism / hospitality, like Hurricane Katrina has affected New Orleans. Quickly and cruelly, ”says István Nagy-Szász, a member of the competition jury, “the brainchild of Tourism is our passion” he continued. He believes this initiative “helps us to remember, and to remind us all, that we are living in a big community, and if nothing else, we can always help ourselves”.
This year’s Tourism is our passion photo competition captures and commemorates the extraordinary period of tourism industry, the sector most severely affected by the pandemic . In addition to the difficulties of the past year, the images entered for the competition evoke smiles and also show the heroes. The competition and the exhibition are aimed at those for whom passion is tourism, with the undisguised aim of creating a connection between the general public and those interested in the profession .
The country’s first tourism-hospitality photo competition was open from February 10, 2021 to March 20, 2021 in four categories. These are memories of 2020; Heroes of tourism; A momentary smile; Without guests (silence).
Based on the votes of the audience, the three most popular images won prizes, and based on the votes of the recognized professional jury members, we announced first, second and third place in each category.

Several special prizes were awarded: the leaders of the Magyar Kereskedelmi és Vendéglátóipari Múzeum (Hungarian Museum of Commerce and Hospitality), Budapest Gyógyfürdői és Hévizei Zrt., Hotel Hero and CPI Hotels Hungary also thought that there were other works worth highlighting among the entries.

It can be stated that the last year of the tourism sector is shown by the exhibition of the best images of the Tourism is our passion photo award through the eyes of those who live in it. The exhibition will open simultaneously at seven locations on June 29 at 5 pm , so that everyday life of the tourist can be bubbled at the same time in seven parts of the country.

At the end of the parallel exhibitions, the organizers will put the entries up for auction. The proceeds of the auction were donated to the Brave Camp Foundation based on the votes of the entrants . The Bátor Tábor Foundation provides seriously ill children and their families with life-changing experiences, strength and tools for life and recovery. With the help of therapeutic recreation, their campers get back their lost childhood.
