Tokajhegyalja (the food of Tokaj Hill) is part of the World Heritage. The two oldest and most famous settlements of the historic wine region are Tokaj and Mád. The wine region is unique due to its arable lands of excellent quality, micro-climate, wine cellars, the centuries old winemaking techniques and its special architectural treasures appreciated in Europe, as well. Tokaj is also considered the birthplace of the world famous “Ice Wine”.
