Two new exciting exhibitions opened at the Night of Museums in Debrecen. A new temporary archaeological exhibition at the Déri Museum explores the astonishing natural worldview of Bronze Age people, while a new project at MODEM examines the authenticity of communication, the identity of museums and the disappearing world of letter culture through correspondence on behalf of a fictitious postal museum.
Bronze Age Spheres
A new temporary archaeological exhibition has opened at the Déri Museum. Never before seen in Debrecen, the museum presents world-famous artefacts (Nebra sky disc, Hajdúsámson and Brickworks weapon treasures, special jewelry ensembles), and tries to bring the astonishing natural world view of the Bronze Age people closer to the people of today.
The exhibition aims to show how our ancestors saw and imagined the world around them, its real and sacral structure and its functioning.
The exhibition will be on view from 21 June to 23 November 2025 in the Déri Museum.

I’ve got a letter, lájf – We only use electronic communication
Nóra Juhász’s new project explores the authenticity of communication, the identity of museums and the disappearing world of letter culture through correspondence on behalf of a fictitious postal museum. The resulting multi-layered installation is both an ironic and emotional exploration of the historical significance of the postal service and the impersonal nature of the digital age. The project originally began as an unconventional performance based on the traditions of mail-art and the practice of catfishing, or deceptive online identities. Hiding behind a fictional institutional persona, the artist engaged with museums to explore the limits of authentic communication and the fragility of trust in the digital age.
The exhibition is on view at MODEM Project Space from 21 June to 21 September 2025.
