The Fourth Advent Candle Lighting takes place on 19th December in the Memorial Garden of the Reformed Great Church. The event is taking place just a few minutes walk from 100 caterers and Christmas fair vendors in Kossuth Square and the surroundings, (available until December 23rd) but there are some great Christmas-themed activities on the preceding Friday and Saturday.

Sol Oriens Choir’s 30 + 1 Year Anniversary Concert

Christmas Valcer Ceremony

The Valcer Dance Studio’s Christmas gala, this year – for 30 years now – is traditionally a celebration of the holiday season. Their show is dedicated to the lovers of ballroom dances, standard and Latin-American dances, and modern ballroom dances. The gala will feature competition dancers, formation groups, mazerettes, and folk dancers, and dance students from the Valcer Elementary School of Art.

Kaláka ensemble – Only have health!

The Kaláka Ensemble brings poetry to the audience on an elegant music platter that cannot be confused with other musicians. They do not force their own compositions, but they make out the “original melody” they read from the poems born and condemned to “heart-silence” exiled to Gutenberg’s books. – Sándor Kányádi.
At the Advent concert of the Kaláka Ensemble we can hear the poems of classical and contemporary poets in a typical Kalákás version.
