In keeping with its tradition, the Debrecen Zoo is organising its fourth bird-friendly family programme, which provides an excellent opportunity for visitors to get to know the special world of our feathered friends left at home for the winter and the birds of exotic landscapes.
For the first time, the two-day event is guaranteed to bring people of all ages closer to the world of birds.
Visitors will be able to learn about this year’s bird of the year, the green sparrow, in a zoo-educational presentation, and then fill the feeders in the institution’s bird-friendly garden and observe the birds of the Great Forest through binoculars.
Afterward, they can get up close and personal with the exotic inhabitants of the institution’s African winged birds in a festive show. On both days, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., participants can take part in a Green Circle educational session in the treehouse, while a themed craft fair will be held in the Gibbon House for those who have been inspired by the programme. All programme elements are free with a zoo pass.
