A Noisy, fun birthday party at the Agora

Special, loud programs await visitors on Sunday, February 13th, at the Agora Science Experience Center’s 7th birthday. Unusual performances on this day are all built around sound.

Among other things, visitors can get an answer to the question of how our instruments make sound and whether there is a musical device that can be played without touch. During a spectacular experimental demonstration, those interested can test their hearing and follow the path of the sound waves. On the birthday day, small and large cubes, cylinders, and other bodies can be used to coax sounds from Agora’s high-tech electro-acoustic DJ counter and get acquainted with quite a few exotic instruments.

The Science Center can be visited on this day with a discounted ticket. The price of the birthday ticket for children and adults is 1000 HUF / person.

Detailed program:

Sharpen your ears!
Experimental presentation

Venue: Grand Speaker
Time: 11:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m.
How do our ears perceive sounds? Can I make a sound wave visible? Is it possible to hold a concert in space? The catchy experiments reveal how complex the sound is, how it propagates, and what special phenomena it is capable of, but those interested can also learn what a wave bath is good for and how to play music with sparks.

A melody to loving
Journey into the world of musical instruments

Venue: Grand Speaker

What could be the first musical instrument? Do I have to roll the scroll? What has goat hump got to do with a goat? During the interactive presentation of the musician Zoltán Arany, he will perform a number of well to known instruments, but there will also be special musical instruments that are not often encountered by adults.

HangZOO
Animal Library

Location:
Time: 1:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m.
Where do insects carry their “ears”? Is the German Shepherd better able to hear or the great waxy? What sounds does the fox indicate the area? Can an animal mimic the sound of a camera or a chainsaw? The interactive presentation also reveals how familiar you are with animal sounds.
