In 2022 the St Ephrem Male Choir will celebrate its 20th anniversary. In the jubilee year, the ensemble’s 11-year-old series Orientale lumen will return to Debrecen for an Easter concert on 23rd April in St. Anne’s Cathedral.
The programme will include folk songs from Palócánya, Transylvania and Moldavian Csángó, which have been specially arranged for this occasion by the St. Efrém Male Choir and Irén Lovász. Of course, Lenten and Easter hymns from the Carpatho-Catholic and Byzantine traditions will also be performed, giving a cross-cultural overview of the most important feast of Christianity.
