The FIBA 3×3 World Tour is the pinnacle event of an ‘open’ network of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA)-endorsed 3×3 tournaments.
FIBA 3×3 World Tour is a significant sports event in Debrecen’s sporting calendar and is held according to high international standards. Each year around two million people worldwide are watching the World Tour Masters series.
The FIBA 3×3 World Tour takes place usually in August at the square in front of the Great Church of Debrecen; where the citizens have become accustomed to spending the summer evenings with basketball and the festivities of the event.
As a result of the excellent arrangements in 2019, the 3×3 U18 World Championship was to be held in the city in 2020 but due to the coronavirus, the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) had to postpone two Olympic qualifiers scheduled for spring 2020 in the 3×3 discipline to 2021.
Good news that the Debrecen stop of the World Tour will still be held on August 29-30, 2020 according to the updated calendar of FIBA.
