Campus Festival is about to kick off

World stars, 20 locations, 70 bands from Debrecen – This is what the 15th Campus Festival will be like!

The Campus Festival will be held for the 15th time between the 19th and 23rd of July. In the anniversary year, festivalgoers can expect a higher quality and more exciting selection of programs than ever before. In addition to the extremely popular performers, hip-hop and, in a unique way, rock and metal music will be given a separate independent stage, what is more, many musical delicacies and young talents will also be featured at the festival with the most ambitious music offer. Those interested in arts other than music will not be bored either, with a total of more than four hundred programs on offer.

55th Hortobágy Equestrian Days

The Hortobágy Equestrian Days are a summary of the Hungarian equestrian life, which includes professional riders as well as amateurs and horse-loving adults and children.

Past and present meet in the Hortobágy with its mirage. Three days in the land of the foals!

In the past decades, the Hortobágy Equestrian Days have grown into a major event in the region, which is known across national borders. The main aim of the event is to promote the past and present of the pastoral culture of Hortobágy, the past and present of the Hortobágy Nonprofit Ltd. and the horse breeding work of Mátai Ménes, and its collection of horses, which is still in use and in operation today.

The autumn season starts with renewed venues and new theatre management

Bohemian Life, Alice in Wonderland and Cyber Cyrano will also be on the Csokonai Theatre’s programme this year.

As the new director of the Csokonai Theatre previously revealed, the theatre season in Debrecen will start in autumn at five venues. The Csokonai National Theatre has announced the 2023/24 season programme: 18 new shows, musical cabarets and stand-up comedy are planned for the autumn.

Déri Museum opened new permanent exhibition on the Night of Museums

Summer has arrived and with it the festival season has kicked off. Though in Debrecen the whole year is packed with events, the biggest festivals are held in the summer.

An exhibition of the works of Károly Keserű opened in MODEM

MODEM opened the retrospective exhibition Károly Keserű who was born in Debrecen and lived in Australia and London for decades.

The retrospective exhibition presents works made with special techniques. The exhibition, entitled “Round and round: From Debrecen to Debrecen” , symbolises the life of Károly Keserű, who was born in Debrecen and lived in Australia and London for decades.

Debrecen hosts antique fairs in summer

Lovers of antiques will have the chance to go the region’s biggest antique fair in summer too.

More than twenty years ago, in March 2000, the first antique fair was held in Debrecen. Since then, the main organiser László Máté has invited antique lovers to this event more than 400 times, and this summer, we will not have to miss these Sunday events.

Miniature Train Weekend

A whole weekend dedicated to Debrecen’s narrow-gauge railways taking place on July 8-9 at Zoo Debrecen.

Observed on the second Saturday in July, Miniature Train Day is a tradition worth building upon, so Zoo Debrecen and their partners have in store a whole weekend of thematic activities in addition to unlimited amusement park adventures for July 8 and 9.
