The Aquaticum Adventure Pool in Debrecen is Being Renovated

Significant investment into the Aquaticum Mediterranean Adventure Bath in Debrecen’s Great Forest will enable a much greater development that previously.

Aquaticum Mediterranean Adventure Bath in Debrecen’s Great Forest opened its doors in 2003 as the first indoor adventure bath in Hungary. For the past 18 years, the bath has operated successfully, undergoing necessary maintenance and minor improvements when needed, and in 2016, a baby-mama rest area was set up. However the latest investment plans will enable a much greater development.

Showcase Exhibitions City Wide

In recent months, we have become accustomed to store front exhibitions, enclosed behind glass from their traditional venues at museums and galleries which have been closed. We like the arts to get closer to us in this way, so we are happy to announce new showcases.

In recent months, we have become accustomed to store front exhibitions, enclosed behind glass from their traditional venues at museums and galleries which have been closed. We like the arts to get closer to us in this way, so we are happy to announce new showcases, done partly in combination with the City Day of Debrecen on April 11th, which again smuggle a little visual experience into the everyday life of those who visit.

Border Fate Exhibition – The Impact of the Treaty of Trianon

The Déri Museum’s new BORDER FATE exhibition presents the events and wide-ranging impact of the Treaty of Trianon.

The Déri Museum has launched a new exhibition entitled Border Fate and is about the wide ranging effects that the Treaty of Trianon had on the population of Hungary. It builds upon the museums prior virtual exhibition, done for the centenary anniversary of the Treaty of Trianon in 2020.  In addition to well-known consequences of the treaty, the exhibition draws attention to lesser-known or partially forgotten events.

Kajla Offers Some of the Best Gems in Debrecen to Discover

Kajla has returned with a new edition to promote attractions overseas, on the prior territory of Greater Hungary as well including a wide range of cities from the historical Hungary.

In 2019, the Hungarian Tourism Agency launched “Kajla,” a summer campaign designed to encourage family trips to as many places in Hungary as possible. The campaign follows a dog called “Kajla,” around discovering the wonders of Hungary. The campaign has been so successful, it has been expanded with many new products and games last year including “Kajla körök” that promoted forest playgrounds, forest railways and parks. Now, Kajla has returned with a new edition to promote attractions overseas, on the prior territory of Greater Hungary as well including a wide range of cities from the historical Hungary.

The Magic Forest Project Continued

In the first phase of the Magic Forest project, the promenade was built on the side of the new Debrecen beach facing Pallagi út. In the second phase, experience lighting and steam blowers will be installed on the promenade up to the St. Pope John Paul II Square (next to the Mist Theater).

The Pallagi Road promenade is to be extended and new light display and water attraction to be added in the Great Forest.

The Spring Baby Boom Started at the Debrecen Zoo

This year also promises to be eventful in the country’s largest herd of moose, where a healthy bull calf was born on the first day of spring, March 1st, after about 9 months of pregnancy. Although she will enjoy her mother’s care for a long time to come, the little one is already curiously acquainting herself with her surroundings. Read about the other new additions and Zoo news.
