On the third weekend of Advent in Debrecen, another festive flame will be part of the city lights, accompanied by outdoor activities.
Sounds of the heart
Petőfi Music Prize-winning songwriter Vivien Nurmag and her orchestra will come to Dósa Nádor Square to deliver the most beloved Christmas songs in a way no one has ever heard them before, with their jazzy and acoustic sounds. Meanwhile, in the Little Church, Sára Tímár, Junior Prima Prize-winning singer, and her orchestra will create an intimate atmosphere with their Christmas show, “The Star is Rising”.

Be the ugliest! – Christmas Ugly sweater run.
This year, sports, family, and community events and charity supporters can get out their ugliest Christmas sweaters in downtown Debrecen to collect gifts for the needy in a fun way. The Christmas Ugly Sweater Run is open to young and old, athletic and less agile, as the distance can be covered by sprinting, jogging, or even walking.

There will be no stopping on the ice, the Kori Disco will continue, and the theme for Saturday evening will be the skating rink. Was it fun and you couldn’t leave it at the store? Maybe it was your great grandfather’s niece’s, and unfortunately, you inherited it last Christmas? Go ahead; we’ve got a place you can finally pick it up! The music is provided by Dávid Szabó, aka Dew Taylor.
Crafts and special photos
Children can enjoy DEMKI’s playhouse in the Advent Cottage, where music and creativity will be the main focus. In Santa’s elves’ workshop, the little ones can make Christmas tree decorations and small gifts, while in the Honey-Glazed Corner, they can decorate cookies. There will also be a sweet tooth-tasting session, while Uncle Tibi Réti will entertain the audience with a musical show, followed by the Festive Tunes. For those looking for a more special place than the Advent rush, a photographer will use greenbox technology from the Hollywood movie world to conjure up a winter wonderland, a reindeer’s back, or Elsa.

What could be more festive than the Grinch?
Chaos has broken out again, and the people of Debrecen face another mystery. The Havervagy team is preparing for the third weekend of Advent with a humorous puzzle, which can be solved through the Advent market – with several board game elements. The Batman sign is broken, so the organisers call for heroic volunteers to save the city.
Culinary specialities
The Poppy Blossom Dessert Workshop performance will get everyone in the mood for Christmas. The patisserie also attaches importance to seasonality and traditionality, so they are preparing a poppy seed revolution for the show.
