Sziget-kek Theme Park Opens in Early Summer

The heart-warming fairy tale entitled “Sziget-kék” by Hungarian writer Magda Szabó still transports children and adults into a beautiful dream world.

The free-to-visit Sziget-kék all-year-round park is located under the hundred-year-old trees of Great Park, on the site of the former Ötholdas Pagony (The Five-Acre Wood) playground. The new park is one of the region’s most exciting playgrounds of Debrecen, offering fun recreation for all generations.

Children can invent and build new fairy tales in giant sandpits, drive mini cars, or even test their skills on floating climbing frames, adventure tracks, and winding slides in the Sziget-kék all-year-round park.

They can hide among the foliage of climbing trees in the tree canopy, climb up to the observation tower of the adventure tower, or practice driving on the road between the houses of the mini-city.

The park is not just for the little ones. It will also be a meeting place for young people and a recreation park for parents and grandparents, with a central reception building and a catering area.

The all-year-round building also serves as a real community space, where various programs and events can be organized.

The soon-to-open Sziget-kék all-year-round park, now doubled in size, will offer a wide range of experiences for children and adults.
