The Concert Season Starts Again

We can fortify ourselves against the autumns often, long, cold, and dark evenings with classical music programs that warm the body and soul. In parallel with the new theater season, the Kodály Philharmonic Orchestra and the Kodály Choir in Debrecen will soon start the new concert season, with the high-quality concerts that feature their usual guests.

The works of the greatest composers in music literature, including Verdi, Beethoven, Mendelssohn, and Wagner, are performed by such popular artists as pianist Gergely Bogányi and opera singer Andrea Rost.

The Kodály Philharmonic will also launch a series of online concerts in the 2020/2021 season.

This year, there will be six concerts that viewers can follow live from the comfort of their homes by purchasing a HUF 1,000 online ticket. The performers of the Armchair Concert series include classical music stars such as Gergely Bogányi and Dezső Ránki, both Kossuth Prize-winning pianists, or violinist János Bodor and the Savaria Baroque Orchestra. The Kodály Philharmonic and the Kodály Choir are conducted by Dániel Somogyi-Tóth, Imre Kollár and Gábor Káli, as well as conductor Zoltán Kocsis-Holper.

Of course, World Music Day, which we celebrate in Debrecen with a concert-like performance of Verdi’s Rigoletto cannot be missed this year either.

The Kodály Philharmonic Debrecen awaits lovers of classical music with the following concerts in the autumn.
